Contract: Full-time, term-time plus 3 days during holidays
Salary: £120-£170 (depending on qualification adn experience)
Our agency is recruiting on behalf of a SEMH school looking for a motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to inspire students who may have struggled in mainstream settings, including those with SEN, SEMH needs, or disrupted educational experiences.
Requirements:
- QTS or QTLS essential
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children with SEN or challenging behaviours
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence applying trauma-informed strategies
- Ability to deliver high-quality English teaching up to GCSE level
- Experience teaching and leading Functional Skills English (Entry Level to Level 2)
- Understanding of the social and emotional barriers learners may face
- Deliver engaging, creative, and personalised English lessons that motivate learners and build confidence
- Teach Functional Skills English, ensuring all learners achieve meaningful progress and nationally recognised qualifications
- Work collaboratively to create bespoke learning pathways aligned with the curriculum
- Develop positive relationships with students based on the ethos of “connection before correction”
- Support students’ wider social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Promote equality, diversity, and safeguarding at all times
- Is adaptable, organised, and flexible in teaching and pastoral duties
- Can inspire a genuine enjoyment of English through innovative approaches
- Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to a supportive environment
- Prioritises safeguarding and can respond confidently to incidents
