Job Description

ROLE: Mechanical Buyer
LOCATION: Eastbourne
HOURS: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
SALARY: £34K - £36K (pending on experience)

Source and procure mechanical parts, equipment, and services in line with project specifications
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers to achieve best value
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business needs
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality standards
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to understand procurement requirements
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
Resolve supply chain issues, including delays, shortages, or quality concerns
Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a mechanical, engineering, or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical components and supply chains
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience using procurement or ERP systems
