Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting for a Business Support Assistant to join the Highways and Streetcare Services team at Ty Glantaf for a 9-week contract. Role: Business Support Assistant
Location: Ty Glantaf, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)
Contract Duration: 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
Salary: £12.21-£15.95
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality telephony, reception, and administrative services to support Highways and Streetcare Services.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering general advice, booking services, and accurately recording complaints.
- Handle telephone enquiries in line with established procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks including faxing, filing, photocopying, typing, handling post, and data input.
- Maintain and monitor the Council-wide CRM database and generic email inboxes to address service requests and complaints promptly.
- Undertake reception duties and train other staff on systems and protocols as needed.
- Ensure adequate stocks of stationery and other consumables.
- Support Emergency Planning operational staff during crises (e.g., flooding, pollution control).
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities and protect children and vulnerable adults by reporting concerns to the line manager.
- Essential:
- Knowledge of administration and customer service.
- Experience in data processing/data inputting.
- Strong team-working skills and a commitment to supporting colleagues.
- Clear and concise communication, ensuring accurate information sharing.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and legislation while adapting to changing priorities.
- Dependable, trustworthy, with strong IT skills and a focus on high-quality customer care.
- Commitment to health and safety compliance.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of relevant software packages.
- Experience with IT systems used in Business Support or supporting frontline services in a local authority setting.
