Looking to build a career in education while making a measurable difference each day? Use your calm, structured approach to support a learner with Autism and ADHD so they can thrive.

*** SEN Graduate Academic Mentor
*** Immediate start until July 2026
*** £81 - £101 per day
*** ‘Good’ secondary school, Ladywood
*** 1:1 SEN support for a student with Autism and ADHD

What you’ll do:
Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day. You’ll break tasks into clear steps, use visual schedules, and scaffold transitions between lessons. You’ll reinforce teacher instructions, model regulation strategies, and keep succinct notes on progress so next steps are obvious. You’ll work closely with subject teachers, the SENCO, and parents to keep strategies aligned.

Who you are:
A graduate who communicates clearly, stays composed under pressure, and builds trust quickly. You follow support plans, maintain firm but fair boundaries, and focus on small wins that grow confidence and independence.

Requirements
  • Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear, confident verbal and written skills.
  • Enhanced DBS – Held already or willingness to obtain.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in SEN, behaviour support, and pupil wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.

The School:
A ‘Good’ secondary in Ladywood with established inclusion systems and supportive leadership. Expect clear routines, practical coaching, and regular check-ins so you can make impact quickly and develop professionally.

How to Apply
Send your CV, plus your availability and DBS status. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief call and in-school interview/observation. Apply early—the school may appoint before the closing date.

Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
