Adult Social Worker - Learning Disabilities Key Responsibilities:  
  • To conduct robust Care Act reviews and support planning, to ensure all service provisions meet the statutory requirements and service user’s needs.   
  • To conduct a comprehensive reviews to uncover inefficiencies and areas requiring enhancement in the delivery of adult social care services.  
  • To identify and eliminate instances of financial waste through a meticulous review of current expenditures and service provisions.   
  • To develop and implement strategies to effectively manage and reduce the backlog of care reviews, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.    
  • To use the strength-based methodology, focusing on the utilisation of home technology and alternative equipment to reduce formal care support and promote service user independence.   
  • To ensure all residents have undergone financial assessments, close unprovided open provisions, ensure provider compliance with contractual obligations (for example, only billing for care provided), reviewing care logs against provider invoicing and recouping any overpayments to providers.   
  • To implement measures to prevent the misuse of direct payments, recoup funds in cases of misuse, and address unspent balances in accounts of deceased residents, those who have moved to care homes and those whose direct payments are larger than required to meet their care and support needs.  
  • To effectively prioritise and manage your caseload.
  • To keep accurate records in relation to the contact and work undertaken, using electronic record systems (Liquid Logic) and other relevant ICT systems.
Candidate Requirements for the Adults Social Worker role:
  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years’ post-qualifying experience 
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in adult social care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to adult social care
