Design and Technology Teacher – Permanent Role – Brent – September Start
An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Brent is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis from September. About the Role:
You will deliver engaging and practical Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to KS5 depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Textiles and be passionate about hands-on, skills-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 delivery based on expertise
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that develop pupils’ design thinking and practical skills
  • Foster a safe and productive learning environment in the workshop or classroom
  • Support students in developing high-quality project work for assessments
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to promote development
  • Collaborate with the department to plan curriculum, share best practice, and deliver extra-curricular opportunities
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, safety, and academic achievement
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have a relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related subject area
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Graphics
  • Be confident using tools, machinery, and CAD/CAM software where applicable
  • Have experience teaching D&T at KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Be creative, enthusiastic, and committed to practical, student-centred learning
  • Work well collaboratively within a team and be committed to professional development
