Senior IT Technician – School Trust (Colchester) – Temp to Perm 
Are you an experienced IT professional looking for an exciting opportunity to support schools across a growing trust? We are seeking a Senior IT Technician to join our Trust Central Services Team, providing high-quality IT support to schools within the trust. 
 
About the Role: 

• Position: Senior IT Technician 

• Location: Based in Colchester, with travel required to schools across the trust 

• Contract: Temporary to Permanent 

• Start Date: ASAP 

 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Help and manage the school’s IT infrastructure, including the Meraki switch infrastructure, Smoothwall Firewall and filtering, Google Workspace OS, Apple iPad and Windows environment (small) and other cloud-based systems 

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a range of devices (Chromebooks, PC’s, iPads, VOIP Phones, MFD Printers, Interactive TV’s and other tech devices) 

• Assist with the deployment of new technologies and software updates 

• Ensure cybersecurity measures are upheld across the trust 

• Work closely with the IT Manager and wider Central Services Team 

 
Requirements: 

• Previous experience in IT support within an education or multi-site environment 

• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and hardware maintenance 

• Ability to work independently and travel between school sites as required 

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills 

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential
