Science Teacher – SEMH School (Windsor)
Location: Windsor
Contract: Full-time / Permanent (part-time considered)
Start Date: As soon as possible
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Windsor, supporting young people who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education.
This is a unique environment that values high support and high challenge, creativity, flexibility, and strong relational practice. The school provides a highly personalised curriculum for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting them to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
The Role
  • Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse SEMH needs
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support pupils’ emotional regulation and personal development alongside academic progress
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including pastoral staff and SEN professionals
  • Use creative, practical, and experiential learning strategies
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or strong unqualified experience in specialist settings
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision (essential)
  • Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management strategies
  • A calm, patient, and reflective approach to teaching
  • Commitment to inclusive education and trauma-informed practice
  • Confidence delivering Science in a flexible, non-mainstream setting
