Job Description
A well-resourced and welcoming special school in East Birmingham is seeking a Primary SEND Teacher to join the team on a temporary ongoing basis, starting immediately. This school provides exceptional support to children with a range of complex learning needs, and offers excellent facilities, small class sizes and strong teamwork across the staff team. You will be teaching a class of primary-aged pupils, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants who help to create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
The school fosters a culture where every child is valued, understood and encouraged to make meaningful progress. The leadership team are supportive, approachable and focused on staff wellbeing. This role requires QTS and is not suitable for an ECT. Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with SEND
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to support individual needs
- Supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Building positive relationships with pupils and families
- Tracking progress and adapting lesson plans where needed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with SEND, or a genuine passion to develop in this area
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach to teaching
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive and child-centred education
