Job Description

Class Teacher – SEND – Primary – Birmingham
Are you ready to take on the most rewarding teaching role of your career? A Birmingham SEND school is searching for a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to inspire and support primary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs. This is more than just a teaching role – it’s a chance to change lives every single day.

As a Class Teacher here, you’ll lead a small, nurturing class where every pupil is known, valued, and celebrated. With groups of no more than 8 children, and at least two skilled Teaching Assistants in every classroom, you’ll never feel alone. You’ll have the resources, support, and encouragement you need to bring your best ideas to life and give pupils the opportunities they deserve.

This is a school where creativity is embraced, where progress is measured not just by levels, but by confidence, independence, and smiles. You’ll be joining a community that believes in its teachers as much as it believes in its pupils, with a leadership team that genuinely listens, supports, and invests in you.

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering personalised, engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs.
  • Creating a safe, structured, and positive environment where children thrive.
  • Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Supporting children with communication, independence, and social skills alongside their academic progress.
  • Celebrating every milestone, no matter how small, as a step towards independence.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • QTS and experience teaching in a primary or SEND setting.
  • A flexible, creative approach to planning and teaching.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • An unwavering commitment to helping children with complex needs achieve their potential.
If you’re a Class Teacher who believes teaching is about more than just lessons – it’s about unlocking potential and building brighter futures – we would love to hear from you. Apply today or contact The Education Network Birmingham for more information.
