This school is looking to welcome a Teaching Assistant to the team on an ongoing basis to support children in either Key Stage 3 or 4 with a range of moderate learning difficulties including, Autism and communication impairments.
As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be providing 1-2-1 and small class support. Working closely with the teacher and helping children to reach their full potential. Job Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to Key Stage 3/4 students with SEND
- Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Adapting learning materials and activities to ensure accessibility for all students
- Helping to create a positive and structured learning environment
- Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to promote student progress
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a special school setting
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A commitment to inclusion and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
