Job Title: SEF Writer – 2 Week Contract (Outside IR35)

Are you an experienced education professional with a proven track record in crafting impactful School Self-Evaluation Forms (SEFs)?
We are looking for a SEF Writer to support a local authority/school in completing a comprehensive and strategic SEF in line with current Ofsted expectations. This short-term contract is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the education sector, inspection frameworks, and school improvement planning.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on drafting and refining a School Self-Evaluation Form (SEF)
• Collaborate with senior leadership to extract and reflect accurate data, evidence, and school performance narratives
• Ensure alignment with Ofsted’s current Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
• Highlight strengths, address areas for development, and offer evidence-based commentary
• Deliver a completed SEF document by the end of the two-week engagement

Ideal Candidate:

• Former Headteacher, Deputy, Senior Leader, or Education Consultant
• Strong experience writing or contributing to SEFs
• Excellent written communication and evaluative writing skills
• Familiar with school performance metrics and self-assessment frameworks
• Able to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
• Available to start immediately and complete the assignment within 2 weeks

Additional Information:

• This role is outside IR35
• Remote working – online collaboration with leadership teams
• All necessary materials, data and school input will be made available
