We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join the Children Looked After and Leaving Care Service in Sutton. This is a key leadership role overseeing corporate parenting responsibilities from care proceedings through to CLA and Leaving Care.
Golden Hello & Recruitment/Retention Bonus Team Managers in this service are eligible for the following:
- £1,000 paid in your first month’s salary
- £1,000 paid after your first completed year
- £2,000 paid after your second completed year
- £3,000 paid after your third completed year and annually thereafter
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective corporate parenting for children looked after and those leaving care.
- Ensure all interventions are child-centred, prioritising the best interests of children and young people.
- Oversee assessment, planning and review processes for CLA.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, policies and professional standards.
- Promote a positive, inclusive team culture that supports development and continuous improvement.
- Oversee care proceedings, care planning, quality assurance and direct work carried out by the team.
- Chair meetings and work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children and young people.
- Contribute to high-quality care plans informed by children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered with Social Work England, holding a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Experience working with children within a care or safeguarding environment.
- Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong knowledge of social work practice, assessment, and statutory responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex social issues to families and professionals.
- Ability to plan and coordinate care plans and manage complex cases with high emotional sensitivity.
