The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Experience delivering Early Years / KS1 curriculum, including foundational literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience with the Equals curriculum (advantageous but not essential).
  • A background or strong interest in working with pupils with profound and complex needs, particularly Autism.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience using AAC/symbol-supported communication systems.
  • Strong behaviour-support skills, with the ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing way.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a small group of pupils with social communication needs.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach to behaviour that challenges.

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN specialist consultant
  • Opportunities for long-term or repeat placements
  • Free safeguarding and CPD opportunities
