Job Description
Our sampling teams play a crucial role in supporting Major Projects and Programmes that improve services for millions of customers and deliver essential environmental benefits across our region. What you’ll be doing as a Quality Technician
- You’ll be on the move daily, travelling between sites and working independently while being part of a wider team covering a large geographical area.
- Your main responsibility will be collecting water samples from wastewater treatment sites, including working with both crude and treated sewage.
- You’ll coordinate with internal teams to arrange site access and sampling schedules, building strong working relationships to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- You’ll be responsible for achieving SLA and KPI targets, contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the sampling function.
- You’ll manage your sampling records and maintain sampling equipment, ensuring everything is kept in line with industry standards.
Base location: Field-based
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:15 to 15:15. There will be a requirement for weekend standby. This won’t be needed immediately but is expected to come into effect within the next 12 months as the team grows.
What you should bring to the role
- A clean manual driving licence is essential.
- Experience in drinking or wastewater sampling is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes and work independently.
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as ISO17025, DWI or EA standards is desirable.
- Good computer literacy and attention to detail, with the ability to follow technical procedures.
