Job Description
Our client is a well-established, family-run development and manufacturing company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of electronic power systems. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and support their CNC manufacturing team.
The Role
This is a practical, shop-floor-based leadership position. You will oversee CNC programming, setting and machining operations while ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and motivate a team of machine shop operatives
- Oversee CNC programming of lathes and mills in line with engineering drawings (SolidCAM experience advantageous)
- Supervise machine setting and operation in accordance with company procedures
- Expedite production to ensure parts are manufactured on time and to specification
- Manage raw material stock in line with production requirements
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve technical and quality issues
- Perform basic machine maintenance and support continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment using 5S+1 principles
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibility
- Strong CNC machining background (lathes and mills)
- Solid understanding of programming principles; SolidCAM experience desirable (training available)
- Proven ability to optimise machine utilisation, reduce costs and improve quality
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
- Confident communicator at all levels, internally and externally
- Full driving licence and own transport

Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
