Our Client

Our client is a well-established, family-run development and manufacturing company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of electronic power systems. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and support their CNC manufacturing team.

 
 The Role 
This is a practical, shop-floor-based leadership position. You will oversee CNC programming, setting and machining operations while ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are consistently achieved.

 
 Key Responsibilities 

    •  Lead, organise and motivate a team of machine shop operatives


    •  Oversee CNC programming of lathes and mills in line with engineering drawings (SolidCAM experience advantageous)


    •  Supervise machine setting and operation in accordance with company procedures


    •  Expedite production to ensure parts are manufactured on time and to specification


    •  Manage raw material stock in line with production requirements


    •  Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve technical and quality issues


    •  Perform basic machine maintenance and support continuous improvement


    •  Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment using 5S+1 principles


    •  Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards



     
 
 Experience & Skills 

    •  Minimum 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibility


    •  Strong CNC machining background (lathes and mills)


    •  Solid understanding of programming principles; SolidCAM experience desirable (training available)


    •  Proven ability to optimise machine utilisation, reduce costs and improve quality


    •  Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability


    •  Confident communicator at all levels, internally and externally


    •  Full driving licence and own transport

 Hours 

    •  Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm


    •  Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
