Job Description
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Electrical Engineer
- Establish front-end design for projects, working as part of multi-disciplinary teams to develop feasibility studies and project briefs.
- Support Operations in the investigation of technical/ electrical problems on site, undertaking root cause analysis and producing investigation reports with recommendations.
- Contribute to the development and updating of Thames Water's electrical asset standards.
- Deliver the Engineering Regulatory compliance on relevant assets in the Electrical area.
- Support the development of less experienced members of the Electrical Engineering team, including Apprentices and Graduate Scheme employees.
Base location: Hybrid - Hampton Coal Wharf - TW12 2ES, with travel to Reading Clearwater Court for meetings and regular site visits to support project design and delivery.
Working pattern or hours: 36 hours, Monday- Friday.
Necessary requirements for the role: Must have a valid UK driving license.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
- Extensive experience in their engineering discipline, including High Voltage and Low Voltage Systems and with meaningful experience in the water industry.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of electrical standards, British standards and HSE regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate and ability to influence senior colleagues.
- A passion for continuous professional development and an active approach to driving diversity within Engineering at Thames.
- A degree qualification is preferred, but lesser qualifications with extensive practical experience are acceptable.
