Job Description
What you will be doing as a Soft Services Facilities Manager
- Facilities Manager - To oversee and manage all day-to-day facilities operations on site, including audits, reactive and planned maintenance through FM service providers.
- Supply Chain Management - Monitor contract performance, attend monthly contract performance reviews, initiate renewals, extensions and terminations, maintain accurate records of contractual documents and correspondence. Resolve disputes and manage risks.
- Internal Stakeholder Management - Own and manage monthly internal stakeholder meetings and user groups pertaining to Facilities Management services.
- External Stakeholder Management - Own and manage external stakeholders through supply chain management.
- Change Management - Take a lead role in the transition and change of facilities management services.
- Leadership - Lead, manage and support FM team, both internal and external.
- Budget Management - Prepare and manage budgets for associated cost centre Reporting monthly through P&L management any variations.
- Health and Safety - Working with H&S colleagues to ensure compliance with H&S and environmental regulations, develop and implement emergency response plans.
Location – Your base location will be Clearwater Court, Reading, on a Hybrid basis.
Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
What you should bring to the role
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in facilities or estates management.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing contractors and service contracts.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Comfortable stepping into leadership when required.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Experience supporting audits and inspections.
- Risk assessment and mitigation planning.
- Ability to supervise and motivate staff.
- Experience in delegating tasks and managing performance.
- Conflict resolution and team-building skills.

- Offering between £47,000 to £53,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
