Job Description
Reporting to the FP&A Planning and Systems Lead and working closely with the Programme Manager and FP&A teams, this role will help the business improve its ability to produce accurate, insightful, and timely financial forecasts by supporting the development of an integrated planning process and related systems to drive automation, efficiency and confidence. This will include the implementation of short-term no-regret system improvements.
As the FP&A Transformation Analyst, you will work closely with all elements of the core finance teams, both in groups and across the wider business. It will also link in closely with the Finance Directors and various Heads of Finance/FP&A.
This role supports the foundational capabilities of Thames Water as part of the Turnaround Plan.
This is a 10-12-month Fixed Term Contract
Hybrid, reading twice a week

What you will be doing as an FP&A Transformation Analyst
- Support the development of a standardised planning process -Support the FP&A Programme Lead in implementing an improved standardised planning process, ensuring the delivery to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements.
- Assist with improved Performance Reporting and development of Assurance Models - Work with the Group FP&A and the wider finance team to improve the reporting in line with best practice and maintain consistency throughout. Help in developing a new suite of assurance models to be utilised by Group FP&A.
- Development of the Governance & Communication - Assist in creating a rigid governance process around reporting and forecasting alongside a communication plan that needs to be followed to ensure all areas of the business are fully aware of upcoming finance deliverables.
- Project/Change Management - Creating and updating the project workstream, planned deliverables and attending steering groups.
What you should bring to the role
Essential
- Experience in FP&A / Business Partnering function with a proven track record in 'adding value’.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to interact with people effectively.
- Experience in liaising with a wide range of staff from different disciplines.
- System experience with SAP (ideally ECC & Analytics Cloud) & HFM.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
- Good analytical, Excel (including financial modelling) and PowerPoint skills.
Desirable
- A Qualified accountant.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes.
- Experience in data analysis/migration in a systems implementation environment.
- Experience in project delivery and/or management.

- Competitive salary £65,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
