Job Description
The Engineering Manager - OT will build a new team that will focus on delivering practical OT solutions, driving continuous improvement, and strengthening governance and supporting existing and new frameworks across our operational estate.
They will provide strategic and technical leadership for the newly built OT Engineering Team, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role holds overall accountability for ensuring that all projects delivering OT assets into Thames Water’s operational estate are technically assured and fully compliant with the OT strategy, standards, and requirements. As the key stakeholder for OT-related initiatives, the Engineering Manager - OT drives innovation, delivers integrated OT solutions, and ensures the security and resilience of Thames Water's OT systems. They will collaborate with the OT Engagement and Delivery teams (internal and external) to design and communicate OT solutions, high-level structures, and standards, guiding the development of integrated solutions that meet both current and future business needs.
What you’ll be doing as an OT Engineering Manager
- Lead and manage the OT Solutions, Standards & Governance, and Cyber project teams, creating a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Define team goals and monitor performance against KPIs, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Implement the OT Strategy, ensuring alignment with Thames Digital's strategy and operational objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of OT systems, ensuring alignment with standards, policies and architectural frameworks.
- Lead on conducting periodic inspections and audits of frameworks, ensuring quality, compliance, and safety standards.
- Lead on managing OT document compliance, maintaining and updating approved hardware lists, technical specifications, and frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical and business objectives, providing technical advice and leadership.
- Manage resources to meet OT project demands, ensuring timely delivery of integrated solutions.
Base Location: Reading - Hybrid
Working Pattern or hours: 36 Hours
What you should bring to the role
- Experience in OT solutions.
- Strong knowledge of OT methodologies, principles and frameworks.
- Experience in working with 3rd party delivery partners.
- Demonstrable awareness of the uses of OT within the utility industry.
- Proven expertise in assessing and navigating the commercial implications of frameworks and project delivery.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Project management, delivery and control.
