Project Engineer

Summary
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee the full project lifecycle, from design through to delivery. This role requires balancing customer requirements with technical, resource, and safety considerations, ensuring successful and efficient project execution. The Project Engineer will monitor production stages, manage resources, and ensure safety compliance for both processes and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
• Represent the organisation professionally at all times.
• Act as an escalation point for customers and internal teams, resolving issues and removing roadblocks.
• Build strong client relationships with key decision-makers, supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee project progress, reporting to managers and stakeholders, and addressing problems proactively.
• Assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Prepare budgets and monitor project costs to maintain profitability.
• Develop and implement evaluation criteria to assess project performance.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, and construction activities.
• Conduct site visits, risk assessments, and health & safety evaluations.
• Manage procurement of materials and services, ensuring timely delivery to sites.
• Identify design or scope changes, assess impacts, and implement corrective actions.
• Select, manage, and evaluate subcontractor performance.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Support management in forecasting, cost control, and financial monitoring.
• Ensure correct and timely completion of handover documentation and commissioning records.
• Identify risks, establish contingency plans, and implement corrective measures when required.
• Support business development initiatives and contribute to service-level agreements.
• Ensure all projects undergo thorough technical review at design and commissioning stages.
• Travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas to build and maintain client relationships.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Reports to the Project Manager.
• May supervise and train employees, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and manage day-to-day project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
• Recognised project management qualification.
• At least 5 years’ experience working with enterprise-level access control systems.
• At least 5 years’ experience working with enterprise-level CCTV and video management systems.
• 5+ years in the electronic security systems industry.
• Experience across diverse customer environments (offices, warehouses, etc.).
• Knowledge of access control systems such as Lenel, S2, CCure, AMAG, ProWatch, and Genetec.
• Knowledge of CCTV/VMS platforms such as Milestone, Genetec, and Avigilon.
• Valid ECS (or equivalent for overseas projects) and SMSTS certification required.

Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of project costs and budget management.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement technical instructions and project scopes.
