Job Description

⚡ Graduate / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer | Oxford | Building Services, Sustainable Design, Real Progression

I’m working with a growing, independent building services consultancy in Oxford that’s known for delivering high-quality, low-carbon MEP design across sectors like education, heritage, healthcare, and infrastructure.
They’ve got a brilliant support structure in place for junior engineers and a clear path for development — including chartership mentoring, exposure to high-profile projects, and involvement in full project lifecycles from day one.
Whether you’re just starting out or have 1–3 years of experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in a supportive, technically strong environment.

⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the design of electrical systems including lighting, small power, containment, data, and fire alarms
  • Producing CAD and Revit drawings, calculations, and technical documentation with support from senior engineers
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and design team reviews as your confidence grows
  • Collaborating closely with mechanical engineers, sustainability consultants, and building physics specialists
  • Learning how to apply low-carbon, sustainable principles to real-world projects
  • Working on a mix of new builds, refurbishments, and heritage buildings

✅ What They’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar
  • Either just graduated or up to 2–3 years of relevant consultancy experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, or similar software is a bonus
  • A genuine interest in building services and sustainable design
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and keen to take ownership as you develop
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

💼 What’s on Offer:

  • Salary typically between £25,000 and £38,000 depending on experience
  • Full support towards chartership (IET or CIBSE)
  • Private healthcare, 25+ days holiday, pension, cycle to work scheme, hybrid/flexible working
  • Friendly, sociable office culture with regular team events and CPD opportunities
  • Hands-on project involvement with structured mentoring from senior engineers

If you’re looking to start or grow your career in electrical building services with a company that values quality, sustainability, and development — this could be the perfect next step.
