An esteemed building services consultancy in Oxfordshire is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. About the Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality electrical building services designs. Depending on your experience level, your responsibilities will include:
  • Design Development: Crafting electrical systems designs, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and security systems, from concept to completion.
  • Project Management: Leading or contributing to projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, and clients, to ensure integrated and efficient designs.
  • Technical Documentation: Preparing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software.
  • Site Engagement: Conducting site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and support project implementation.
  • Mentorship: For senior candidates, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to their professional development.
Key Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • Intermediate Level: Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical design within the building services sector.
    • Senior Level: Over 6 years' experience with a proven track record of leading projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, or similar tools.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK building regulations, British Standards, and sustainability frameworks like BREEAM or LEED.
  • Professional Development: Working towards or holding professional registration (IEng or CEng) is advantageous.
