Design Engineer

Do you have experience working in a sheet metal environment as a Design Engineer?

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the design, development, and introduction of new products, as well as redesign existing ranges.
Produce detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing and customer requirements.
Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, making adjustments as needed.
Organise and oversee prototype production and testing to confirm correct form, fit, and function.
Create loading information, technical specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs).
Design customer specials and provide associated technical support and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to design and manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to provide technical input and assist with marketing materials.
Carry out CAM programming and produce flat patterns for manufacturing.

Skills & Experience

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
Minimum of 18 months’ experience in a design-related role within manufacturing/industrial environments.
Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred).
Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across teams, customers, and external organisations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
