Field Service Engineer – Software, Automation

Location: Midlands (Field-Based, UK Travel)

Salary: £44,000 + Annual bonus 10% of salary + New Company Car + Benefits


 The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a global engineering business, supporting industrial tooling solutions across a UK-wide customer base. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and strong long-term career development.

 
The Role

 

• Installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial tooling equipment
• Fault finding and performance optimisation on pneumatic, battery, and DC tools
• Support network installations and PLC integrations
• Calibration, testing, and certification of tools
• Preventative maintenance and pre-delivery inspections
• Customer-facing role with responsibility for resolving technical issues end-to-end
• Identify service and upgrade opportunities and support wider sales activity
• Complete job reports, documentation, and service records

 

 
The Candidate

 

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Experience with industrial power tools or within a manufacturing/service environment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently in a field-based role
• Good communication and customer-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible approach to travel, including occasional overnight stays
