Job Description

Are you an experienced Lathe Operator who is looking for a new position based in Dudley with a well-known World Leading Forging and Engineering company?

Hourly Salary: £13.65 to £13.93
Weekly Hours: 6am to 2pm/11am to 7.30pm

Job Responsibilities:

Operating Lathes and machinery to make heavy steel products
Working from engineering drawings to plan out how to most effectively machine each component.
Use of overhead cranes though training will be provided.
General preventative maintenance such as swarf removal and coolant checks.
Checking and inspection of own work at beginning, in process and completion of work.
Working to master route cards and required specifications.
Worked in a heavy engineering environment.

The ideal candidate:

Will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a manual lathe operator or machinist.
Exposure to understanding and following basic CNC programs. (Siemens preferred).
A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience.
A logical and analytical approach
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
