About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Maker / Machinist to join our team. This hands-on role involves the setup and operation of conventional machines including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to produce precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and components for production. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders to manufacture and modify components.
  
  
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  
  
• Measure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, callipers, gauges).
  
  
• Fit and assemble parts to close tolerances.
  
  
• Maintain and repair existing tooling and fixtures.
  
  
• Ensure all work is performed to high standards of quality and safety.
  
  
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool designs and performance.
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a tool maker or manual machinist.
  
  
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  
  
• Skilled in the use of conventional machine tools and hand-finishing techniques.
  
  
• Good understanding of materials and machining tolerances.
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  
  
• Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship preferred.
